Department of English

English was taught as a compulsory subject since the inception of the college. It was introduced as a subject for specialization upto graduation degree in 1957. Prof. Dr. D.G.Natu played an instrumental role in the induction of English as a subject for specialization. In 1958-59, English was introduced as a subordinate subject at MA. In 1959-60, it was introduced as a principal subject; and since 1978, MA (entire English) has been offered by the department. Since then the department has progressed by leaps and bounds.
