» Introduction | Department Economics

 The department was established in the year 1946-1947. The degree classes were started in the same year. Entire economics was started in the year 1965-66. The strength of the students of the department was 12 in the year 1950-51 at degree level it increased to  Student 155 in 2022- 23 Seven Student's were at post graduate level in 1960-61 It increased to 35 student's in 2022-23. The result of both degree and post graduate level are more than 60%.

* To create awareness of the economical environment among the student

• To acquaint the students with the knowledge of micro and macro concepts,

theories, problems and policies in Economics.

* To develop the analyzing capability in applying economic theories to real life situation.

* To enable the students to have an understanding of the various issues of the Indian Economy.

* To acquire the ability and competence for appearing to the competitive examinations like Indian Economic services, MPSC, UPSC, Railway, Postal services etc.

• To make the students well acquainted with modern trends in dynamic and competitive business world.

* To integrate information communication technology with Economics to stimulate an access to global knowledge.
